Spring Break has begun....

Spring Break is officially underway!! One way to tell it that it is cold and rainy...just the weather for getting out in the yard and digging around in the dirt....NOT!! I was up early this morning...no sleeping in for this vacation...and got some stuff done around the house before I took some boys up to the corner to catch the bus for Zillah and baseball. It was a pretty rainy day, not a drenching kind of rain, just a steady light rain that lasted pretty much the whole time we played. In between games it didn't, which was good because Jessica and I had our turn to feed the team. Sure makes it easier to make sandwiches when it isn't raining (-:

The boys won both games. Yeah!! That made the rain bearable. Here are some shots from the game:

Ridge making his way back to centerfield after battling a hamstring pull.

Not sure about the reason for the hands on the helmet????
Brad pitching...did great!!!
The leg kick.
Thinking about the next pitch.
Briar waiting for Morgan to hit him in!! Go, Morgan!!!
Here comes Nate. (I think I got a shot of him sliding earlier this year!!)
And, he beats the ball!!!

Safe.

Getting dirty at first.

Head first into second.

Ball in the air above him (-: Safe!!

Briar before getting one of his RBI's.
Celebrating some runs a home plate. (-:

Made it to my first ever soccer game yesterday!!
This is Freddy Barragan. He can run very fast. He made a goal tonight also.
A crowd at the ball.
This is Eduardo (Tarzan) Arzate. He made 2 of the 4 goals tonight. He is fun to watch, he can handle a soccer ball!
#23, Jose Alvarado, (the one with the dyed hair) is a league all-star! He use to be an office aide, last semester. We miss him, but he does come say hello to me once in awhile.
Here he goes for the ball.
Here he is after kicking the ball.
Getting ready!
Possession change.
Mariano in orange cleats!!

Freddy and Tarzan waiting for a whistle, at least I think that is why they are just standing there with the ball in front of them.
Freddy throwing the ball in, Paulo and Jose watching downfield.
Half time!!
The goalie for this game.....Jose Garibay!!
G-O-A-L!!! Yeah, Freddy!!!
Mariano...going for a breather.

Jose taking a little break.
Paulo going after it!
Waiting for a shot from the other team...not sure what the official term is for this play either. Guess I need to ask some questions!!
Jose putting his foot into it!! again!!
Here is Eddie...he is our office aide and a big reason why I came to watch the soccer game. He talks about it all the time so I wanted to be supportive of him and the rest of the team.
Paulo, Jose, Freddy and Ismael...waiting for something...
Eddie hitting the ball with his head!! (I am sure that there is some technical term for this kind of shot, but don't know what it is!!)
Defense.
Going to the goal.
Christian Torres with the ball.

After the game. We won, 4-1. Good job, Eagles!!

By the way:

LOVE the green shoes!!

Samson at the soccer match too!! He was so well behaved!! Good job, Marcie. (:

Isn't he just the cutest!!!!

Here I am!!

Went to Emma's volleyball game last Thursday....awesome!! They do so well...and they're only in grade school!! Kara coaches, so that is a big reason for the greatness!! Here are some shots from the game (not the greatest because the gym is a lousy place to take pictures):

Go Emma!!

The Spectator, Mattie (-:
Friday there was some mail for Noe that Jessica just couldn't wait for him to open so she brought it to school and we pulled him from class early, like 3 minutes early (-:

What does it say, Noe!!! Hurry!!!!!

Can you smile any BIGGER????
A great big hug from mom!! Yeah!!
We have a University Husky in the family!!!! CONGRATULATIONS, NOE!!!!! We are all Cougars over here on this side of the state but I guess we will make this one exception!! We are totally PROUD of YOU!!!!! Go Dawgs!!!!
Sunday at the Methodist Church, the Youth Group put on a "Friendship Game Show" to raise money $$$$$ for their mission trip this summer. It was fun for everyone! 8 couples answered questions about themselves and their partner and then the points were added up. The Haack brothers stole the show, taking 17 of the available 21 points. Good job!! Everyone had fun. The Youth Group ran the show and the commercial entertainment during the show (:

I just got done reading this book:

I don't know how I felt about it. It was an extremely well written book--I just love Jodi Picoult; the subject was just a hard one to read; it was a heart-wrenching, tormenting read. And, it had one heck of an ending!! If you have a weak stomach and soft heart it will be hard to read..beware.
