Today was a pretty good day. I found my long lost friend!! Well, not really long lost; just haven't had communication with her in a couple three years!! Yeah Terry!! I had Terry's phone number in an address book that has LONG past disappeared from my home. I have had Terry on my mind the last couple of weeks like crazy so today I wanted to try to do something about it!! I got on the internet and 'googled' her name and came up with a website of hers, with Lewiston High School. I know that she teaches there so I knew this had to be her. From that site I got onto the Lewiston High website and got her e-mail address from their staff list. I then e-mailed her and she e-mailed back. It made me extremely happy to have contact with her again. What a wonderful lady she is.....plus she named her daughter after me many years ago so what can I say??? (-:

The wind is simply HOWLING outside. The temperature is 54 degrees....today, January 6th. Need I say more?????

Snowy night!!

Today ended up being a LONG day!! It started before 5:00 a.m. with a telephone call saying that we (school) was on a 2 hour delay. Didn't go back to sleep after the call, therefore a LONG day was in store.

LOVE the snow...have I said that before??

School went sorta fast, sorta slow. Doesn't make sense I know, but that is how it went. I stayed late to get caught up on a deposit, and to make up for the time I lost this morning due to the roads. The kids were glad to be back it seemed. Buses were really late this morning and that makes for some chaos, with students in the halls at various times instead of class. Our poor attendance secretary!! Trying to decifer between absenses and tardy buses...she does great though!!

My car barely made it up the hill to the house this afternoon. I tried the first driveway...big mistake!! I ended up almost stuck bigger than life! The second driveway was almost as bad but the incline is a bit more gradual so that helped getting to the top. I found myself rocking forward trying to help the car up that last little bit. I didn't know if I was going to make it or not. Went to get the kids off the activity bus and took the car....big mistake!! This time it took both the kids outside pushing me up and around the last little corner at the top of the driveway. Literally both of my children were out in the snow, pushing with all their might!! It was kinda funny, well, NOW it is kind of funny!! (-:

The fog has rolled in big time right now. I am not sure that the forecast is for anything too dramatic tonight so school shouldn't be a problem tomorrow. The temperatures are really suppose to get into the 40's and even 50 by Wednesday. Incredible....January weather!!!

Welcome to the largest Tonka collection this side of the Montana Tonka Museum [soon to pass this great establishment up I might add!!]

These great machines are all part of Uncle Greg's collection. He has shelves on all the walls in his shop designated as Tonka shelves. He has old ones, new ones, sheltered ones and abused ones. He loves them all. It is a privilege to get to go to the shop and "view" them all. The kids are allowed to touch only under supervision (-: He rocks!!

We went to Kathy's this afternoon for dinner. It was so much fun. I am determined to spend more time with friends and family. Life is too short!!! Here are some fun shots from around the table....

Celebration of Life

Today was my cousin Stephen V. Hailey's Celebration of Life. It was a day of good memories and funny stories...how can it not be with so many Hailey's involved!! (-:

It has been an emotional week. I have visited with family that I haven't seen in a long time. (I hate it that funerals are what people get together for!!) It is fun to reminisce (spelling!!???) with family and hear the stories that you haven't heard before, and even those that you have heard...many times before!!

The ceremony was very nice. Stephen is quite proud of how it turned out I am sure of it. The Honor Guard's were there and it was extremely powerful...the trumpet playing Taps, the Colors Ceremony, the flag presentation...very American and proud. Carol spoke and did a great job, Dennis did a great Eulogy and Don was a great emcee. The Community Center was PACKED with family, friends, fellow Cattlemen, fellow Politicians; he was a loved man by many. I was glad for Pat.

Still can't get over it....2009!!

Happy 2009!!

I posted yesterday, but didn't put any pictures up. I DID take pictures yesterday so I am still on track with my "want to" for 2009 {take pictures!!}. Here is a couple of Nick going to get the mail. He likes to do this everyday, except for Sunday...no mail on Sunday!! (-:

We truly got a blessing yesterday and today...Kaylee came over to spend the night!! It was fun. She is such a good baby, can't complain about anything!! She even slept good...I was a little nervous about this. All of our kids sleep through the night, or if they don't, they don't bug me with it. Here we go Backwards with a baby...I was nervous about sleep...She did great!! She went down at 9:00 pm, was up at 5:55 am for a diaper change and bottle, back to sleep by 6:20 am and awake at 8:50 am!! Nothing to fear; this time anyway!! (-:

She has learned to roll over!! She even rolled over from her back to stomach and back to back!! SO SMART!!!!

Bath time!!! She got a nice warm towel straight from the dryer...wonder why I wasn't a good mom and do that for my KIDS!!! Guess it is one of those things saved for grandkids.
